Welcome to ILEU e.V. – Institute for Virtual and Real Learning in Adult Education Ulm!

About us

ILEU e.V. is the office of the informal educational network ‘Danube-Networkers’, which was founded in 2008 and in which around 100 civil society institutions are involved today.
We are involved in joint international projects using a wide range of digital tools. The main topics are learning in the third age, social participation and intergenerational dialogue across borders.
Our aim is to contribute to overcoming the mental barriers between European and Danube neighbours, particularly those in Eastern and Western Europe, and to promote awareness of a peaceful Europe based on solidarity. Current central projects are the development of the online platform vima-danube.eu and the online conferences ‘Come together by Culture’ by Danect, which take place via Zoom.

International partner meeting of the Danube-Networkers International

As part of the 13th International Danube Festival 2024, a partner meeting of the international education network Danube-Networkers and other Danube stakeholders took place from 11-13 July 2024. Topics relating to civil society participation were discussed and ViMA-Danube was presented during joint activities and, above all, at the symposium ‘Strengthening civil society in the Danube region for a common Europe’. Of course, there was also plenty of socialising in the evenings. Saturday was lively and musical with ‘Sing and swing along the Danube’!

Music unites: Ukrainian women’s choir Stefania and other participants organise an impressive afternoon

A choir of Ukrainian women refugees was founded in Ulm in 2023, which has since performed under the name Stefania in Ulm in the context of Ukainehilfe ILEU and on other occasions. Bringing this choir together musically with other choirs and musically active groups during the city of Ulm’s Diversity Week was the aim of the „Music unites“ diversity concert organised by ILEU in cooperation with ROXY. The very successful event took place on 9 June 2024 at ROXY with the participation of the Iranian community, the Turkish choir of the HDB, the Chinese Bailing Choir of the CVS, the Ege Dance and Cultural Association, the community of Philippinos in Ulm, the pop choir and the school band of the FOS / BOS Neu-Ulm. You can find more information about this event by clicking here.
