To demonstrate the solidarity among the Danube countries, the Danube Networkers in Ulm under the coordination of ILEU e.V. initiated in November 2013 the project The Wanted Danube. Project’s approach: crocheting of a simple woolen handmade band– long as the Danube river as a symbol of a wanted Danube community and demonstration of its togetherness. The band was worked on in several steps and ended in an art object presented during the Danube festival on the 13th of July 2014 on the cathedral square (Münsterplatz) in Ulm. Afterwards the “Rivercarpet” was divided into small pieces and used for further project demonstrations.
Project The Wanted Danube is a double European award winner – European Citizens‘ Prize and the European Lilly 2015
